Paper Clay Sculptures by Dennis Weber

Paper clay is a new molding material made with clay and paper. This medium is very forgiving and does not require kiln firing. The clay itself can be the armature if there is no need for wood or wire. Paper is used to form a shape and clay is placed over it. Great thing about paper clay technique is that one can work as large as you like by creating your piece in sections and then putting them together. Changes can be made 1-3 days later just by spraying the piece with water and covering with plastic. Within few hours clay can be added and the piece can be reshaped. It will dry completely within 7 -10 days. Because there is no mold making involved each piece is one of the kind always and cannot be exactly reproduced.
